First let's talk about the difference between an English Bulldog and a Bulldog . The American Kennel Club and Bulldog Club of America , only recognizes the "Bulldog" as the proper name. “English” Bulldogs are slang and shows certain novice knowledge towards the Bulldog. French Bulldogs, Pit Bulls, American Bulldogs or any other type of “Bull” or “Bulldog” has no connection to the Bulldog. PheniX Bulldogs uses the term English Bulldogs as everyone understands what we are describing.

Bulldog Show Homes, who breed for show and have at least 5 or more A.K.C. Champions behind them, and breed in the United States, are more than likely qualified to provide you with a superior dog. Membership in the Bulldog Club of America is not an absolute. You must be sponsored by a member and reviewed for membership in BCA, and yes they do not accept all applicants. B.C.A is the only recognized Bulldog Club by AKC. That is AKC and the members of their Hall of Fame. Ask if they have been inspected by A.K.C., Health Department , U.S. Dept. Of Agriculture, Municipal animal control. We have been and received a 100% + compliance. Your Breeder would have the official results of these inspections for you to view. The best measure in qualify breeding for profit or pride. PheniX is nearing 25 Champions we have raised in our facilities and own. It is reason to believe many more PheniX Bulldogs are now Champions If you are A pet home, chances are you will be receiving from us a Bulldog that comes very close to a show dog or may even be one. We can't keep them all! We only have a limited number of breedings per year. Those sold have been through stringent medical screenings - much further than State Requirements. It is unfortunate that profit and popularity of the breed has lead to dishonesty and profiteering. Because many top breeders will not stand stud to unknown or imported bitches, fraud is everywhere. This is not just an Internet problem, but found frequently in local breeders as well. An always good que historical and current health being the main concern. The newest scam is the so called “Generic Bulldogs”! No one with any credibility in the breed understands this term. Bulldogs are man made from the Boxer and the Pug hundreds of years ago. Does this mean he is breeding Pugs to Boxers? Read the history behind the Bulldog. An example of profit driven breeder is the ententive works of Southwest Bulldogs. Once a BCA member, he spends his time taking shots at numerous top breeders while he sells a get rich quick program breeding imported bulldogs. Check it out.

This situation has become so bad Congress has stepped in to enact legislation to stop this unethical practice. While waiting at the airport I introduced myself to a lady next to me, from Middleburg Florida . She was picking up French Bulldogs imported from a “puppy farm” in Lithuanian, a former soviet state. She says they are breed in Europe , I guess one of the 44 European countries! She added that other breeders as well as herself are working to import puppies before congress has a chance to enacts the new restrictions and stop their importation. If you see the term “International Champion”, There are 368 countries! Buyer bewares.  

To compound the problem, a loophole in AKC rules allow registered Championed dogs and puppies from any other Kennel Club in any other country to apply for AKC registration. These regulations are in serious need of review to protect the quality and health of all the breeds AKC represents.

What one thing will ensure the development of a calm, confident bulldog as an adult unlikely to jump, bark, bite, spook or become aggressive around other dogs or different people? Puppy socialization and training to a wide variety of environments of traveling with handlers, trainers, preteens, adolescents, adults, large groups of people, Television and Camera lights and flashes as well as many other distractions. Breeders who proudly show their dogs in AKC sponsored shows should all be congratulated and encouraged to compete. When you see an A.K.C. Champion Dog, you know that the breeder have raised their puppies from birth with winning characteristics planed prior to conception and embedded from day 1.  

PheniX Bulldog Puppies are not exposed at a young age outside of our facilities. Licensed Veterinary Technician on a daily basis are involve with the puppies in a wide variety of new situations, learn quickly watching their piers behaviors and Trainer's actions. The pups are exposed to children and adult only after vaccines. Because of this beneficial experience early on Children, friendly dogs and other pups are much less likely to react fearfully, bark, be aggressive or bite later in life. Some breeders allow exposure to the outside world before their vaccine. After vaccinations, invite friends and relatives, particularly young children to your house to see the cute offspring's. Keep a bowl of puppy food by the entry so guests can treat him when they arrive.

Those puppies that we sell have been through stringent medical screenings - much further than State Requirements. Because they are Bulldog Puppies we utilize X-Rays prior to selling to identify any anomaly. Because of fraud, to which we have been a victim of, all adults and puppies have been “chipped” for electronic identification by any Veterinarian to minimum the risk of fraudulent Breeding and theft.

For those people, making a claim of breeding to a PheniX Bulldog, now must be done by a Vet, and certification of Chip ID's. To protect your investment and our reputation, we have additionally trademarked the licensed name of “PheniX and Phoenix ” in the U.S. Patent and Trademark office. It takes hard work a lot of education and hundreds of thousands of dollars to become any Championship Breeder to the Status of a World Champion.
